During this holiday season Christians all over the world celebrate the coming of our Lord and Savior into the world.  Isaiah the prophet in his writing spoke about the birth of Christ long before His entrance to earth.
"For unto us a child is born , unto us a son is given : and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor , The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." Isaiah 9:6 KJV.

As I looked at the different titles that Isaiah wrote, I am intrigued to understand just what they meant for me and in my research I discovered that all the titles were speaking of Christ's purpose for coming as a babe and eventually dying on the cross of calvary. He came as divinity, robed in humanity, with great power and authority.

HIS NAME SHALL BE CALLED:

WONDERFUL
He came to Express His Love.
Love is the wonder of heaven. Unconditional love - that God would love sinners is a wonder to mankind. It is His Love which covers a multitude of sins and melt our hearts of stone.
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish , but have everlasting life" St John 3:16 KJV

COUNSELLOR
He came to give us Direction.
While we groped in the dark, lost and without any real vision, God sent us His Son to instruct and teach us in way we out to go.  His direction gives us life and light and allows us to have hope for a future - an eternal one.
"I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go : I will guide thee with mine eye" Psalm 32:8 KJV

MIGHTY GOD
He came to get us Freedom.
Freedom from sin and the slavery of sin.  To break generational curses, to overturn demonic and diabolic influences over our lives and to release us from the spirit of fear.
"Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle" Psalm 24:8 KJV

EVERLASTING FATHER
He came to give us Identity.
Identity gives us entitlement because of our relationship with Him.  He calls us sons, and establishes our inheritance in His Kingdom. In doing so He tells us and everyone else to whom we belong..Abba Father.
"For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry , Abba, Father" Romans 8:15 KJV

PRINCE OF PEACE
He came to settle our Destiny.
His coming involved the way of the cross of Calvary, and in facing death He settled the issue of our sins and made peace with our destiny. The exchange of His life for ours allows us to live and to have a brighter today and tomorrow.
"Let not your heart be troubled: believe in God, believe also in me" St John 14:1 KJV

As we celebrate this Christmas holiday let us not forget that He came.. that is the important message. He came to
express His love
give us direction
give us freedom
give us identity  and
settle our destiny

I am excited that He came.
